VINCENNES, Ind. - Vincennes University’s Shircliff Gallery of Art will host an exhibition titled Artists/Teachers: Experiences in Watercolor, Oil, Photography, and Batik, from March 11 through April 4. Featured will be the works of local artists and retired high school art teachers Twila Black and Sara Frenz.
A reception for the artists will take place in the Gallery on March 14 at 11:00 a.m. (EST).
In conjunction with the exhibition, the artists will hold workshops in Room E215 in the Shircliff Humanities Center. Frenz will give a demonstration on watercolors on March 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon. Black will hold two sessions on Batik on March 22 - 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon and 1:00-3:00 PM.

After a combined 60 plus years as arts educators, retired high school teachers Twila Black and Sara Frenz spend time making art inspired heavily by nature in several different mediums. Black travels throughout the country where she finds inspiration for her drawings, batiks, and photography. Frenz works heavily in painting works with varying levels of abstraction. She also serves as President of the Northwest Territory Art Guild in Vincennes which gives local artists an outlet share their works with the community.
Shircliff Gallery of Art is located in the Shircliff Humanities Center on the corner of Second and Harrison streets. Gallery hours are 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday; and 12:00 Noon to 3:00 p.m. Sunday.
