The Vincennes University Foundation is an independent entity, which functions to obtain and administer resources in support of the dual mission of Vincennes University. The VU Foundation is guided by a board of directors of 35 persons. It is an IRS approved 501(c)(3) organization and contributions received are tax deductible, which means that contributions to the VU Foundation are eligible to be claimed by the donor as a Charitable Contribution Deduction. Indiana taxpayers may also claim the Tax Credit for contributions to Indiana higher education institutions on the Indiana income tax return.

- Since June 1990, the total assets of the VU Foundation have grown from $3,040,790 to $39,147,895.
- The VU Foundation awarded 86.3% of its directly controlled scholarships for the 07-08 academic year by giving $560,747 to incoming and returning VU students.
- The VU Foundation maintains over $18,000,000 in endowment funds.
