The university student financial aid system operates in Banner, an Oracle database interactive software system. The successful candidate will have at least two years of experience in a student financial aid office and be familiar with federal student aid regulations. Fewer years of service in financial aid will be considered depending upon the level of experience demonstrated. The successful candidate should be proficient in MS Office applications, have experience in working in a student data system, and have experience in processing federal student loans and alternative loans.
A bachelor’s degree is required. An associate degree with extensive service in a university will be considered.

Academic Advisor - Distance Education

Vincennes University is seeking a highly motivated and energetic individual to provide comprehensive and sound academic advice and support services for students and prospective students pursuing a college degree or other educational objectives through Vincennes University’s distance education program. This is a full-time professional staff position with full benefits.
The Distance Education Program, one of two major programs in Continuing Studies, includes components that deliver courses to a diverse student population including military service members, adults, returning students, students new to higher education, displaced workforce members, and those seeking personal improvement. Most students are seeking a degree or certificate. Course delivery is primarily by Internet, CD-ROM or correspondence. The Academic Advisor reports to the Director of Distance Education.
Responsibilities:
- Serve on a team of advisors advising over 1000 current students as well as prospective students regarding selection of a college, a major course of study, and an appropriate delivery method.
- Ability to articulate the requirements of over 26 degree programs and the benefits of obtaining a degree.
- Work with new students to develop an individualized plan to reach their academic goals. The plan is reviewed with the student each semester to ensure all major program requirements, general education requirements, sequencing requirements, and student readiness is met.
- Provide one-on-one advising to current and prospective students regarding selection of a college, a major course of study, and an appropriate delivery method.
- Interpret, apply and abide by the Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and parental confidentiality issues.
- Accurately evaluate and articulate information on students to faculty and administrators, and in interpret university rules and regulations and other information to students.
- Coach and encourage students through disruptive life events, obstacles, and challenges through discussion of options to help student success.
- Coach students to develop accountability for their educational decisions as well as an understanding of how those decisions impact their future success.
- Assist current and prospective students with inquiries in regards to general and specific information about the University, its programs and requirements.
- Assist and advise students with the admissions process, including providing initial information regarding financial aid or other tuition assistance.
- Supervise advisees’ degree progress, providing provisional audits as necessary and processing their petitions to graduate.
- Assess and evaluate academic advising and advising programs to ensure continual improvement of process and quality.
- Travel as necessary to represent the University at job fairs, education fairs, learning centers, and other university activities.
- Communicate effectively to audiences of prospective students about the benefits of attending Vincennes University.
- Promote academic, career and life goals by developing and advising students with strategies such as successful completion in an online learning environment and the appropriateness of an online choice.
- Serve as an advocate for the student and intercede with at-risk students to reduce attrition.
- Communicate regularly with students to advise them of academic program requirements, registration dates, resources, transferability issues, course substitutions, testing for credit, credit for military experience and training, and other relevant information.
- Identify opportunities to grow enrollments, attract students, gain efficiencies and improve services.
- Register students for distance courses; adding students to the student information system and course management system; advising the appropriate instructors.
- Responsible for data collection and generating reports for retention purposes and evaluating students to make sure the program objectives are met.
- Proactively build advising skills through sharing of best practices, active participation in self-development, and staying current in curriculum knowledge and industry trends.
- Develop and present advisor educational workshops for faculty and staff.
- Develop, revise, and update the processes of Advising Center forms and publications.
- Maintain appropriate student files (electronic and paper).
- Assist students with access and technical issues that may arise.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

THEATRE MANAGER
Vincennes University’s Theatre Department is seeking applicants to fill the Professional Staff position of Theatre Manager. This is a full-time twelve month position with benefits that begins immediately. The successful candidate will spend 75% of their time performing the duties of a theatre manager and will devote 25% of their time to duties that would enhance the institutional goals. Such activities might include teaching, costuming, and/or dance instruction.
Applicants must possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree. Individuals with some theater management experience will be given strong consideration. Candidates should also describe the possible ways in which they could fulfill the additional 25% of their job through theatrical production work or teaching appropriate to the institution. Costuming experience will be a plus as would dance and choreography experience. Experience with theatrical contracts and rental facilities is a definite plus. PRIMARY FUNCTION: Provide full range of academic advising services to all military/ students interested in attending Vincennes University Military Education Program and/or Distance Education Programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Director of Institutional Enhancement supports the mission of the University by providing leadership in enhancing the quality of the programs, offices, and functions of the University. The Director for Institutional Enhancement reports to the President of the University through the Provost of the University.
The successful candidate must possess documented experience in accreditation, assessment and continuous quality improvement in higher education. A Master’s degree in an area of study appropriate to the mission of the university is required; Doctorate preferred. The Director must be an individual with demonstrated excellent leadership skills and demonstrated ability to think outside of traditional structures.
Further, the individual must possess the following:
a. Effective oral and written communication skills.
b. The ability to interpret and administer procedures and program requirements.
c. A general knowledge of personal computers and associated software (MS Office software preferred).
d. The ability to conduct detailed analysis of program issues and concerns and makes recommendations as appropriate.

The Director:
- Provides leadership in the assessment of the quality of all activities of the University consistent with expectations of national, regional, and professional accreditation programs;
- Guides the University in its Continuous Quality Improvement process in consultation with the Assessment Committee which provides advice and overview;
- Oversees the AQIP program of the University, involving faculty, professional and support staff, and administrators in the program;
- Oversees all assessment activities including participation in all approved data collection processes;
- Serves as a member of the data research review team;
- Assists departments and units of the University in obtaining professional accreditations and professional certifications;
- Develops and supports a culture of growth and development for all units of the University;
- Works with teams in departments, divisions, and units of the University in developing enhancement plans and strategies;
- Maintains records of Program Advisory Committee membership, attends all Program Advisory Committee meetings, and guides the division staff on the development, distribution and archiving of all minutes of Program Advisory Committee meetings;
- Works with the Curriculum and Academic Affairs Committee, the Assessment Committee, and the deans to develop and review criteria for assessing academic programs;
- Communicates status and content of the University Strategic Plan to the University community;
- Provides monthly updates to the President and Vice Presidents and to the Provost’s Council on status of assessment, continuous quality improvement, and accreditation
- Performs other duties as assigned.
