VINCENNES, Ind. - Dr. Derek Brown, a chiropractor from Paoli, Indiana, and a graduate of Vincennes University, will serve as the honorary chair of the 4th Annual VU Greater Vincennes AIDS Walk.  The event will begin at the Student Recreation Center with free HIV testing at 12:00 Noon (EST) with the walk starting at 2:00 p.m.

Dr. Brown graduated from Mitchell High School and took his first two years of pre-med studies at VU.  He earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic at Logan College of Chiropractic in Saint Louis, Mo.  Upon graduation Dr. Brown moved to Los Angeles.  While waiting to take the California State Board, Dr. Brown worked as a personal assistant to an interior designer for several key people in the entertainment industry.  He worked personally with some of Hollywood’s...

VINCENNES, Ind. - Vincennes University student Hailee Daniel, Vincennes, is the recipient of the Dr. William Littlejohn Scholarship Award.  The award was presented on Feb. 20 during a luncheon sponsored by the Indiana Council for Exceptional Children at the Hyatt Regency in Indianapolis.

VINCENNES, Ind. - The Vincennes University Music Department will sponsor a High School Choral Festival and Concert on March 5, 7:00 p.m. (EST), at VU’s Red Skelton Performing Arts Center.  Admission is free.

During the day, students from Vincennes Lincoln, Red Hill, and Sullivan high schools will work with internationally known composer Greg Gilpin.  The concert will feature works by Gilpin and composer Joseph Martin.

VINCENNES, Ind. - The public is invited to enroll in one of two Vincennes University Homeland Security Community Academies to be held this spring in Washington and Vincennes.  Enrollment is free and lunch will be provided. The sessions are scheduled to start at 9:00 a.m. EST.

The first academy will be March 30 at the Washington High School cafeteria in Washington and the second academy will be April 6 at VU’s Governors Hall in the Trailblazer Room.

The sessions are designed to raise awareness about timely issues such as weapons of mass destruction, international and domestic terrorism, emergency management, agro-terrorism, community risk management, and vulnerability assessment.  The presenters will be fourth-year VU Capstone Experience students enrolled in the Homeland...

Vincennes University will honor Trailblazer Men’s Basketball Coach Todd Franklin's recent 400th career coaching victory with a program prior to Saturday night's game vs. Southwestern Illinois at the VU P.E. Complex.

The game tips off at 7 p.m. Franklin will be honored after the pre-game recognitions of this season's nine sophomore players, who are heading into their final home game of their VU careers.

The VU Women's Basketball Team will host Southwestern Illinois at 5 p.m.

Franklin has led the Trailblazers to a 26-2 record and the top seed in next month's NJCAA District 16 Tournament at Rend Lake in Ina, IL. He reached the 400 victory mark Monday when VU topped Shawnee 73-49 at the VU P.E. Complex.
