Veteran's Affairs

The Veterans Affairs Office assists veterans, dependents, and National Guard/Reserve students to obtain their educational benefits.  The office is located in Military Education in the Extended Studies Building.

All veterans/guard/reserve students need to contact this office to discuss the application process, monthly benefits, and other related topics pertaining to college attendance. Certification of enrollment by this office is mandatory before any educational benefits can be received. The Veterans Affairs Office certifies students while attending the Vincennes Campus, Indianapolis Aviation Technology Center, Distance Education, Indiana Military Program, and American Sign Language Program.  The Veterans Affairs Office certifies enrollment under the following programs:

How to Apply
Veterans can apply for their benefits by visiting www.va.gov and completing the Veterans Online Application (VONAPP).  After review and approval of an application, students will receive a Certificate of Eligibility mailed directly from the VA.  After receipt of a Certificate of Eligibility, a copy is then provided to the VA Certifying Official at Vincennes University.

Yellow Ribbon Program
Vincennes University is a participating institution in the Yellow Ribbon Program.  The Yellow Ribbon Program is a VA benefit available to eligible veteran students that allows them to receive benefit payments to help cover balances incurred by being out-of-state student at a public institution.  Under this program, the VA matches dollar for dollar amounts with the institution towards the student’s balance.
