Clinical Laboratory Sciences
Clinical Laboratory Sciences is a profession that combines the challenges and rewards of medicine and science. According to the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, more than five billion tests are performed yearly in today’s laboratories. These tests range from the simple pre-marital test to more complex procedures for detecting such diseases as diabetes, anemia, cancer, and AIDS.
As a medical technologist, you will be a vital member of the health care team. The information you provide influences the type of treatment a patient receives.
The Pre-Clinical Laboratory Sciences program at Vincennes University is designed to transfer to some four-year institution for completion of the baccalaureate degree. Upon receipt of your bachelor’s degree, you will be eligible to take the examination of the Board of Registry. In order to earn certification as a Registered Medical Technologist MT (ASCP), you must pass this exam.
