BRETT A. ADAMS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

  • Special Education Major - 3rd or 4th year student preferred
  • Full time or Part time student (minimum of six credit hours)
  • Traditional or Non-Traditional
  • Scholarship can be used for tuition, books and fees
  • Financial need is a consideration

H.A & JUNE RICHEY DOLLAHAN SCHOLARSHIP

  • Education, Psychology and Nursing majors will receive first consideration
  • Full time, part time or summer school. Summer school students repeating one or more classes would not be eligible
  • Any year of attendance; traditional or non-traditional
  • Financial need is a primary consideration
  • Recipients must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 at all times (not cumulative) during the scholarship period
  • Eligibility is not restricted by city, state or country of origin
  • Must file FAFSA each year by state deadline.

LISA MCCRACKEN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

  • Education Major
  • Full time student
  • Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above
  • Must file FAFSA each year by state deadline.

A.M. (SMOKEY) MEDERIROS SCHOLARSHIP

  • Education Major; Full time student
  • Traditional student
  • Resident of the State of Indiana
  • Must have and maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA or above
  • Must file FAFSA each year by state deadline.

VUJC MAX MEUSER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

  • Education Major or any major
  • Full or part time student (minimum of 6 credit hours)
  • Preference will be given to students with a 3.0 grade point average or higher
  • A minimum of a 3.0 GPA must be maintained at all times during the scholarship period
  • Must file FAFSA each year by state deadline.

ALICE THELMA NEAL SCHOLARSHIP

  • Elementary Education majors will receive first consideration
  • Full time or Part Time Student (enrolled, attending, completing and passing) a minimum of six credit hours
  • Traditional or non-traditional students from Knox County, Indiana will receive first consideration
  • Recipient must have and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 at all times during scholarship period
  • Must file FAFSA each year by state deadline.

RACHEL E. OSBORNE SPECIAL EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP

  • Committee from Special Ed Education Department helps select
  • Must file FAFSA each year by state deadline.

PSI IOTA XI SCHOLARSHIP

  • Major in Music, Art, Special Education, Speech or Hearing
  • Applicant must have a high school cumulative GPA (on a four point scale) of 3.0 or above
  • Rank in the upper 50% of graduating class
  • Submission of High School and/or College transcript
  • Written statement of financial need and two letters of recommendation
  • Participation in extra-curricular activites
  • Must file FAFSA each year by state deadline.

SOUTH KNOX - VU SCHOLARSHIP

  • Education Major
  • Graduate of South Knox High School - Knox County, Indiana
  • Applicants will have attained a minimum GPA of 2.5 in high school
  • Recipients will maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 at all times (not cumulative) during scholarship period
  • Traditional or Non-Traditional student
  • Full time, part time or summer school
  • Financial need is not a primary consideration
  • Must file FAFSA each year by state deadline.

SHERRY CARTER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

  • Major in Education, but if none then any major
  • Full time student at VU's main campus, in any year of study
  • Maintain a minimum of a 2.75 GPA at all times during the scholarship period
  • Preference given to LHS, SKHS, or NKHS grads
  • Must file FAFSA each year by state deadline.

RICHARD & HELEN LUX SCHOLARSHIP

  • Major in Education
  • GPA of 2.5 or better at all times
  • Non-traditional students
  • First consideration will be for residents from Knox County, Indiana
  • Part time student acceptable, but must be enrolled and attending a minimum of six credit hours
  • Must file FAFSA each year by state deadline.

NEAL ESTATE SCHOLARSHIP

  • Elementary Education majors will receive first consideration
  • Full time or Part Time Student (enrolled, attending, completing and passing) a minimum of six credit hours
  • Traditional or non-traditional students from Knox County, Indiana will receive first consideration
  • Recipient must have and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 at all times during scholarship period
  • Must file FAFSA each year by state deadline.

DOROTHY M. WALTERS EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP

  • Major in Education
  • A total score of 1160 or above on the S.A.T. examination or 23 or above on the A.C.T. examination
  • Rank in the Top Twenty Percent (20%) of their high school class. Recommendation by his/her high school
  • Participation in high school extra-curricular activites. Student leader in high school
  • Four year award (four years or two years at VU, two years at other university) provided all criteria continues to be met
  • Full time student attending Vincennes University for at least the first two years before transferring to another college
  • Scholarship supplements other financial aid to the point that all tuition, fees, room, board and books are provided or the maximum of $10,000.00 per academic year ($5,000.00 per semester), whichever is less
  • Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or above for renewal. Recipient must submit a request letter and documentation of college cumulative GPA and financial aid package by June 1 every year to renew scholarship.
  • Must file FAFSA each year by state deadline.

Vincennes Civitan Club Special Education Scholarship

  • Major in Education
  • Recipients must be enrolled in 300 and 400 level courses in the special education program at Vincennes University.
    • Additional consideration will be given to students indicating the goal to teach in Knox County or an immediately adjacent county.
  • Recipient may be enrolled full-time or part-time.
  • Financial need is a consideration for selection, but not the primary decision factor.
  • Recipients must maintain the standards of academic progress as defined by Vincennes University for the full period of the award.
    • The scholarship may be renewed for a maximum of two (2) additional semesters if all requirements are maintained.
