Advanced Manufacturing & Automation Technology

The Career Advancement Partnership (CAP) is a workforce development initiative that bridges the gap between industry and education. Students combine hands-on classroom training with a paid internship or apprenticeship. Graduates of this program are in high demand among top manufacturing partners, both locally and across Indiana.

Earn While You Learn: Nationally Certified Apprenticeships

Our students will earn a two-year degree while having the opportunity to participate in a Nationally Certified Apprenticeship or internship through the U.S. Department of Labor.

Our apprentices demonstrate proficiency in 23 technical related skills, complete 3,000 hours of work/learn training, and are guaranteed typically $18 - $21 per hour.

Graduates typically earn $23 - $30 per hour, approximately $60,000 annually.

What can I do with this degree?
Graduates of the Career Advancement Partnership (CAP) program at Vincennes University Jasper often experience a seamless transition from classroom to industry. Thanks to the program’s integrated internships, many CAP students receive full-time job offers at a competitive rate. Employment for Automation Technicians is expected to grow tremendously over the next 10 years. Graduates are not only prepared to meet the demands of today’s advanced industries but also to thrive in roles that require problem-solving, technical expertise, and adaptability.
