Scholarship Opportunities at Vincennes University for LatinX and Diverse Students
Vincennes University is committed to supporting a diverse, inclusive, and multicultural student community. Through partnerships and dedicated scholarship programs, VU offers valuable financial assistance to Latino students and students from underrepresented backgrounds. Below are the scholarships available to help you achieve your academic goals.
Vincennes University Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship
This $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to four (4) incoming freshmen or transfer students as part of VU’s commitment to creating a diverse, multicultural, and inclusive campus.
This scholarship is applicable to incoming students or students transferring to VU from another institution. This scholarship is offered to students selected by the University’s Scholarship Committee. Students may receive the scholarship for more than one year after re-applying. Students from historically under-represented populations, including first-generation college students, are encouraged to apply.
Scholarship will be applied to cost of attendance as defined by Vincennes University.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- Complete the annual FAFSA application.
- Complete 30 credit hours each year at Vincennes University.
- Have a 3.0 GPA in high school.
Additional Information:
- Applying students must write an essay about your academic achievements and leadership in diverse activities. Scholarship essay listed below and submitted to vuscholarships@vinu.edu.
- Deadline for 2024-2025 school year is November 1, 2024, Decision will be made mid- December 2024 and applicable retroactively for the 2024-2025 school year.
- Students will be automatically considered for this scholarship during the application process starting in Spring of 2025. Incoming 2024 Freshman and transfer students must reach out to the Scholarship office to be considered.

Scholarship Essay (To be submitted in English):
In a 500-750 word essay, reflect on your academic achievements and leadership roles in diverse organizations or activities. How have your experiences shaped your understanding of diversity, inclusion, and multiculturalism? Discuss specific instances where you have demonstrated leadership in fostering an inclusive environment within your community, school, or extracurricular activities. Explain how these experiences have prepared you for contributing to a diverse and inclusive student body at Vincennes University, and how receiving this scholarship will help you continue to grow academically and as a leader in promoting diversity and inclusion.

Vincennes University/Indiana Latino Institute (ILI) Promise Scholarship
Vincennes University, in partnership with the Indiana Latino Institute (ILI), is proud to offer two full-tuition scholarships for in-state students through the ILI Scholars Program.
Eligibility Requirements:
- ILI Scholar must participate in the ILI Education Program for at least one full year before applying to be an ILI Scholar.
- ILI Scholar must attend the ILI Latino Education Summit before applying to be an ILI Scholar
- Student must be accepted to Vincennes University
- 3.0 GPA in high school.
Program Requirements:
- Student must participate in the ILI College Coaching program during the duration of the scholarship.
- Student must complete degree within 2-4 years
