TECHNOLOGY - AGRIBUSINESS BACCALAUREATE CONCENTRATION, B.S.

Upon completion of the program, you will earn an Agribusiness Concentration BS degree, which is recognized by employers across the industry. You will have the opportunity to gain practical experience through internships, cooperative education, and other experiential learning opportunities, allowing them to apply their knowledge in real-world settings.

AGRIBUSINESS - URBAN AGRICULTURE CONCENTRATION, A.S. TRANSFER

Students can earn an associate degree in Agribusiness with a concentration in urban agriculture, which involves growing plants and raising animals in and near cities. This program teaches students about backyard, roof-top, and balcony gardening, community gardening in vacant lots and parks, roadside urban fringe agriculture, and livestock grazing in open space.

AGRIBUSINESS – ANIMAL HUSBANDRY CONCENTRATION, A.S. TRANSFER

Students can earn an associate degree in Agribusiness with a concentration in animal husbandry, which involves the care and management of livestock. Students will study feeding, breeding, housing, and health care of livestock, such as cattle, sheep, bees, and chickens raised for commercial purposes.

Students can earn an associate degree in Agribusiness, with a major emphasis on agribusiness operations, marketing, sales, and processing of farm products. Students are introduced to agricultural-related technologies such as GPS, guidance systems, collection of field data, and other precision agricultural applications. Other topics covered include pesticide integration, soil and animal nutrients, and the integration of technology in the workplace.

The Agribusiness certificate includes a mixture of Agribusiness and Ag Transfer agronomy courses aimed at providing a foundation for students wanting to gain employment into the agronomy workforce.

This certificate is designed for students who are interested in either pursuing a career in Agribusiness with an Associate’s degree or continuing in our Agribusiness Concentration, BS Technology degree.

This certificate will expose students to agribusiness concepts and skills to meet the challenges facing the agricultural community. Graduates of the program can pursue careers in various fields such as landscape design, greenhouse management, plant propagation, and more.

HORTICULTURE SCIENCE CERTIFICATE, C.P.C.

Graduates of the program can pursue careers in various fields such as landscape design, greenhouse management, plant propagation, and more. Students who complete the certificate program can transfer their credits to a degree program in horticulture science or a related field.

DRONE/UAS CERTIFICATION, C.P.C.

At VU, students can earn a certificate that would qualify them to fly drones or unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). This would allow them to operate drones for various purposes, including aerial photography, surveying, mapping, and more.
