Student Complaint, Dispute, and Appeals

COMPLAINTS REGARDING PARTICIPATION, PERFORMANCE, GRADES, DROPS, AND OTHER ACADEMIC SANCTIONS OR DISCIPLINE / CONDUCT RELATED ISSUES

Appeals by students regarding participation, performance, grades, drops, and other related issues should first be addressed directly to the instructor. Appeals and issues that cannot be resolved with the instructor may be addressed with the VU DISTANCE EDUCATION OFFICE.

If the student feels that the issue is not resolved with the instructor or the VU Distance Education Office, then the student may initiate an appeal with the VU DEAN OF STUDENT OFFICE by completing the COMPLAINT FORM.

COMPLAINTS REGARDING DISCRIMINATION AND LAW VIOLATION:

  • Complaints by students regarding discrimination or law violation should be addressed directly with the VU Dean of Student Office by completing the COMPLAINT FORM.
  • Complaints regarding personal safety violations should be addressed by the VU POLICE Department 812-888-5555.

Any student who feels a complaint has not been resolved adequately by Vincennes University has the right to file a formal complaint with the State of Indiana's Commission for Higher Education.

Note: The INDIANA COMMISSION FOR HIGHER EDUCATION cannot review complaints related to course grades, academic sanctions, or discipline/conduct matters.
