Dr. Laura Treanor is a passionate and dedicated leader with a demonstrated record
of achievement in higher education. Her professional history includes rich experiences
across a variety of higher education settings and roles. A staunch advocate for instructional
quality and student success, Dr. Treanor has held the positions of faculty, Dean,
Vice President for Academics, Associate Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness,
and most recently, Provost.
Over the course of her 30-year career in higher education, Dr. Treanor has served
as an exemplary innovator and transformative leader who has developed high-impact
teams, heralded new programs and services, and championed academic quality. Dr. Treanor
is a skilled communicator with over 50 professional papers, presentations, and publications.
She is a respected leader, mentor, and teacher and has been named Outstanding College/University
Educator and Outstanding Grants person. She is also an avid competitor who holds several
high school records and was named to the High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
Dr. Treanor serves her community in many ways including the Knox County Development
Corporation, Opt-In Evansville, United Way, and as a participant in 5 and 10K events
for local organizations and charities. Dr. Treanor earned a Doctorate from Virginia
Tech University in Curriculum and Instruction and holds a Master’s of Education from
The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Science from Virginia Tech.
