What can I expect during my time at VU?

  • VU’s Advanced Manufacturing Technology program offers first-class training that prepares graduates to excel in fast-growing industries.
  • The University’s instructors are true experts in their fields and readily available to help students gain the academic and practical skills they need to excel.
  • The University offers substantial academic and social support systems to help students learn and grow.
  • Small class sizes enable students to participate fully in activities and discussions and to seek out extra help when needed.
  • Affordable tuition allows students to graduate with less debt.

The Advanced Manufacturing Automation Technology (formerly Computer Integrated Manufacturing Technology - Robotics) program at VU is one of the most successful programs at the University for graduate placement and one of the highest paying. You should be aware that graduates of this program are not hit as hard during an economic downturn because of the diversity of areas that use automation in their manufacturing, such as; automotive assembly, automotive suppliers, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, packaging, energy, transportation, electronic devices, household products, consumer goods, plastic/rubber/metal products, textiles, printing, and many others.

These are the jobs of the future and will continue to increase in growth because there is a shortage of people with the skills and knowledge to use and understand the different technologies involved in automated manufacturing.

The average starting salary has remained in the top five of all career/technology programs.  With the increasing number of people eligible for retirement and the increasing use of automation in manufacturing, the high job placement percentage will continue.

What can I do with this degree?

Graduates of the Advanced Manufacturing Automation Technology Program can find employment opportunities with companies that manufacture most any product. Look around, the chair you’re sitting in, the electronic device you’re reading this on, the building materials of the structure you’re sitting in, the food you eat, the water bottle you drink from, the medicine you take, the electricity that you are using, the car you drive, all of these things are mass produced and use automation to produce them with.

These are the jobs of the future and will continue to increase in growth.

Jobs are high paying and in demand. There is a shortage of people with the skills and knowledge to use the different technologies involved in producing the products we use every day.
