Like many social scientists, the main activity of anthropologists is research. They study the way of life in people in all parts of the world and compare artifacts, languages, and physical characteristics. Most anthropologists specialize in cultural anthropology, studying the customs, cultures, and social lives of groups in a wide range of settings, from non-industrialized societies - such as the Amish - to modern urban cultures.

What You Will Study
Vincennes University offers the first two years of a four-year degree that is usually sufficient for paraprofessional jobs such as research assistant, administrative aide, or management trainee. You will study courses that range from the civilizations of Greece, Rome, and medieval Europe, through a linguistics course that covers the role of language in various cultures
