WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING MY TIME AT VU?
- Hands-on, real world projects using levels, total station robots, GPS, 3D laser scanners, and several kinds of computer drafting software.
- Students can participate in professional networking events through the student club and the Indiana Society of Professional Land Surveyors.
- Students also participate in internship/job networking events.
WHAT CAN I DO WITH THIS DEGREE?
This degree can leads to survey crew field chief, project managers, and eventually professional licensure as a surveyor. Surveyors can work in private engineering/construction companies or any number of governmental agencies (Bureau of Land Managemet, US Forestry Service, Army Corp of Engineers, County Surveyor Offices, etc.). Projects include building construction, utilities, roadways and railways, land development, sports complex development, mining, parcel boundary establishment, and many more.
