Area high school artists have works on display at VU Gallery

VINCENNES, Ind. - The Annual Knox County High School Art Exhibition will open March 26 at Vincennes University’s Shircliff Gallery of Art. The exhibit will include more than 100 student works from the four county high schools. The exhibition will run through April 6. An opening reception and awards ceremony will take place at the Gallery on March 27 at 6 p.m. (EDT).

Best of Show awards will be presented in two categories: two-dimensional medium and three-dimensional medium. First place, second place, and honorable mentions will be awarded in:  Black and White Drawing, Ceramics, Color Drawing, Glass/Metals, Painting (oil and acrylic), Photography, Printmaking Sculpture, Textiles, Three-dimensional Mixed Media, and Two-dimensional Mixed Media. Awards will be juried by Stephanie Galli, MFA, VU ceramics instructor. 

Tri-Kappa Sorority will also select up to six students to receive scholarships contingent on enrollment in the VU Art and Design Department in the Fall.

The Shircliff Gallery of Art is located in Room A103 of the Shircliff Humanities Center at the corner of First and Harrison streets on the VU campus. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, and 12-4 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is free.
