Blake Parker Memorial Scholarship established

VINCENNES, Ind. - A Vincennes University scholarship has been established in memory of the late Blake Parker who passed away on Nov. 12, 2016.  He was the son of Randy J. and Julie (Riker) Parker.

Established by funds from his family through the Vincennes University Foundation, the Blake Parker Memorial Scholarship will provide funds for a student in the VU Industrial Maintenance program. The recipient will be a full-time, sophomore student, a resident of Crawford County, Ill., and will be required to maintain a 2.5 GPA.

Parker was a 2003 graduate of Robinson High School (Ill.) and went on to attend Vincennes University studying CIM Industrial Maintenance.  He was hired on at Duke Energy in August 2014 as an electrician, and was a member of IBEW Local #1393.  He was a longtime Chicago Cubs baseball fan and will be remembered as someone who would stop at nothing to make others laugh.
