Blazers Give Day brings Trailblazers together to support students
April 11, 2022
VINCENNES, Ind. - Everyone showed off their Trailblazer spirit and philanthropic spirit during Vincennes University’s second annual #BlazersGive Day on Thursday, April 7.
For 24 hours, VU alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students, and friends everywhere celebrated the University’s longstanding tradition of excellence and offering students the very best educational opportunities as they strive to reach their fullest potential.
VU President Dr. Chuck Johnson thanked supporters of the University and praised the generosity of donors in a video message afterward.
Johnson said, “Thank you. Because of you, a VU education is an even greater value, and our programs are stronger. Because of you, goals were met, and the future of our University is brighter than ever. You made yesterday - Blazers Give Day - one day that will make a difference every day. Thank you once again, Trailblazer Family, for coming together and celebrating this great institution of ours, Vincennes University.”
The Trailblazer Family raised more than $114,000 and increased new donor membership on the “One Day That Makes A Difference Every Day.”
In addition to making gifts, Trailblazers gave back by helping spread the word on social media, donating professional clothing to students via the Blazers and More program, writing thank-you notes to donors, and contributing to the food drive for Sandy’s Pantry which provides free food items to VU students. They also got in the festive spirit at Jefferson Union during the President’s Blazers Give Social. There was food and live music performed by VU students and faculty.
Stay tuned for an announcement regarding the date for the third annual Blazers Give Day in 2023.
