ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP

The scholarship is named for the late Larry Stearns who chaired the Paralegal Studies program and was an instructor in the Homeland Security program prior to his death in 2012. It is designated for paralegal students that decide to continue their education either through the VU Homeland Security program or at a four-year institution in Indiana. The VU Paralegal program began in the fall of 1976, graduating its first students in 1979. Since then more than 450 students have graduated from the program which received American Bar Association approval in August 1985 and joined the American Association for Paralegal Education in 1996.
