Class of 2022 to celebrate 216th Commencement in person

VINCENNES, Ind. - Vincennes University will award 2,177 degrees and certificates over three days of in-person Spring Commencement ceremonies.
The exercises will mark a significant milestone for the Class of 2022 as the proud graduates cross the commencement stage and embark upon new and exciting journeys. VU is celebrating Spring Commencement in person for the first time since May 2019.
VU will hold two Spring 2022 Commencement ceremonies on Saturday, April 30, at 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on the Vincennes Campus at the P.E. Complex, 1401 N. Chestnut St. Tickets are required for guests.
The University will also host commencement exercises at the American Sign Language Indianapolis and Aviation Technology Center Indianapolis campuses on Friday, May 6, at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively.
Commencement at the VU Jasper Campus is Saturday, May 7, at 10 a.m.

According to VU Provost and Vice President of Instructional Services/Dean of Faculty Dr. Laura Treanor, “Vincennes University is delighted to celebrate the Class of 2022 graduates for their outstanding accomplishments, tenacity, and determination when they take the stage during commencement. As Provost, I offer my warmest congratulations to the Class of 2022 and encourage them to keep blazing forward, wherever their trails take them next!”
Treanor will preside over the 216th Commencement. VU President Dr. Chuck Johnson will address graduates.
VU will award 2,177 degrees to students representing 77 of Indiana’s 92 counties, 32 states, and seven countries.
The University will confer associate and bachelor’s degrees along with certificates to graduates from all VU sites, including VU Jasper, American Sign Language in Indianapolis, Aviation Technology Center in Indianapolis, Early College, Distance Education, and Military Education.
VU will recognize the graduates of the following colleges during the 10 a.m. ceremony in the P.E Complex:
- Business and Public Service
- Science, Engineering, and Mathematics
- Technology
VU will recognize the graduates of the following colleges during the 2:30 p.m. ceremony in the P.E. Complex:
- Early College
- Health Sciences and Human Performance
- Humanities
- Social Science, Performing Arts, and Communications
The 2022 Honorary Doctorate recipients are Citizens Energy Group President and Chief Executive Officer Jeffrey A. Harrison and retired Indiana Commissioner of Higher Education Teresa Lubbers. Harrison will be honored at the 10 a.m. ceremony on the Vincennes Campus, while Lubbers will be honored during the 2:30 p.m. ceremony.
The Vincennes Campus Commencement student speakers are Karlie Pummel (Technology: Business Administration and Management) and Brock Wilson (Advanced Manufacturing Automation Technology) at the morning ceremony, and Taven Noll (Behavioral Sciences - Psychology Concentration) at the afternoon ceremony.
The Vincennes Campus Commencement ceremonies will stream live on Vincennes University's YouTube channel. Vincennes PBS will air the recorded Commencement ceremonies, back to back, at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 1.
