Duke Energy Foundation presents grant to VU Foundation

VINCENNES, Ind. - The Vincennes University Foundation is the recipient of The Duke Energy Foundation grant through its relationship with the VU Center for Research and Learning.  The $5,480 grant will support the second annual Phillip M. Summers Innovative Teaching Summit (ITS).

The Summit will be held at the Vincennes Campus on March 23, sponsored by the Center in conjunction with the VU Psychology and Education departments. Educators from all academic levels are invited to the professional development event that will include a variety of workshops emphasizing innovative teaching strategies.

“The focus of the Summit is on practical, creative, and effective instructional strategies which enhance student learning,” said Mike Drysdale, associate professor of psychology.  "We appreciate the support from The Duke Energy Foundation and how it will impact our ability grow and improve the Summit,"

The keynote speaker for the Summit will be Traci Druschke, recipient of the 2016 Indiana Milken Award. Information and registration is available at www.vinu.edu/alumni-foundation-site/index.html.
