Lony Francis, Jr. named All-American honorable mention

VINCENNES, Ind. – Vincennes University sophomore forward Lony Francis, Jr. has been selected as an honorable mention All-American by the NJCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Committee.
He helped the Trailblazers win the Division I national title in March in Hutchinson, Kansas. It was VU’s fourth national championship and first since 1972.
Francis averaged a team-high 15.8 points per game as a sophomore. He was second on the team in rebounding with 7 per game.
He hit a major milestone during the national tournament. He surpassed 1,000 career points in a quarterfinal win over Odessa (Texas). He became the 39th VU player to eclipse 1,000 points. He finished with 1,024 points.
Francis is native of Columbus, Ohio. He is majoring in general studies.
