Lony Francis Jr., Todd Franklin invited to NJCAA Men's Basketball All-Star Game

VINCENNES, Ind. – Sophomore forward Lony Francis Jr. and Trailblazer Coach Todd Franklin have been invited to participate in the 2019 NJCAA Men’s Basketball Coaches All-Star Game presented by the NABC on May 18 in Las Vegas.

Francis is one of 12 Division I players selected to compete at The Orleans Arena against a team made up of 12 players from Division II and Division III.

Franklin will coach the Division I team.

Franklin guided the Trailblazers this season to the Division I national championship. It was VU’s first national title since 1972. He was named Coach of the Tournament and was chosen as the National Association of Basketball Coaches NJCAA Coach of the Year and Spalding NJCAA Men’s Basketball Division I Coach of the Year.

Francis led the Trailblazers in scoring with 15.8 points per game and was No. 2 in rebounding with 7 per game. He received NJCAA All-American honorable mention honors for the second year in a row. Francis surpassed 1,000 career points during national tournament.

The Division I roster features 11 NJCAA All-Americans.
