Public invited to free performance by ISU’s Cramped Spaces Ensemble

VINCENNES, Ind. - The public is invited to attend a concert featuring the Cramped Spaces Ensemble on Sept. 12, 7:30 p.m. (EDT), at Vincennes University’s Red Skelton Performing Arts Center. The event is presented by the VU Department of Music and admission is free.
The Cramped Spaces Ensemble is from Indiana State University and members include Susie Jackson, director of bands and Music Department chair at VU, as well as ISU school of music faculty members Dr. Beverley Simms, Martha Krasnican, Dr. Jimmy Finnie, and Dr. Paul Bro.
The program will feature two large works for two pianos and percussion. “Everything Flows,” composed in 2016 by Caroline Kyung Ahn, was commissioned by Cramped Spaces Ensemble and premiered at the 2016 ISU Contemporary Music Festival. “Hard Fairy,” composed in 1994 by Graham Fitkin, features the saxophone technique of Paul Bro in conjunction with the other forces of Cramped Spaces.
