VINCENNES, Ind. – Vincennes University Men’s Basketball Coach Todd Franklin signed transfer point guard Patrick Fisher on Friday.

The 6-foot, 170-pound Fisher will play closer to home.  He is from Bloomington, Illinois and played the 2018-19 season for Gavilan College in Gilroy, California.

Gavilan is one of the top teams in the California Community College Athletic Association.

Fisher averaged 7.7 points, 5.4 assists, 3.8 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 28 minutes per game freshman year. He was named to the Coast Conference honorable mention team.

Franklin said Fisher is a “big-time defender with a better than 3 to 1 assist-to-turnover ratio”. He also said Fisher has “really good strength and quickness”. He describes him as a “pass-first point guard”.

Fisher played a key role in Gavilan’s success last season. The Rams compiled a 27-3 overall record, went 12-0 in the Coast Conference South Division for their second straight league championship and advanced to the CCCAA NorCal Regional finals for the second season in a row.
