VINCENNES, Ind. - The Vincennes University Board of Trustees welcomed two new members during its Dec. 6 meeting at Updike Hall. Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb announced the appointments on Oct. 23.

The new members include Millie Marshall, Evansville, president of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana, Inc., and Emma J. Marsh, Bruceville, a second-year VU student who will serve through Sept. 30, 2018. Marshall’s term expires Oct. 4, 2020. Marshall replaces the late C. James McCormick and Marsh replaces Drew Brown.

“I am very honored to be part of this team,” Marshall said. “We have a fabulous AMT [Advanced Manufacturing Technician] program that Vincennes University completes for us. The graduates have been outstanding.”

Citing her academic and work background, the new student trustee says she believes she is prepared for her service on the Board. “I look forward to making an impact at VU right away,” Marsh said.

In addition to welcoming new Board members, the Board also elected new officers. Michael Sievers, Vincennes, will serve as first vice chair; Reginald Henderson, Carmel, will serve as second vice chair; and John R. Gaylor, Indianapolis, will serve as secretary. John Stachura, Vincennes, chairs the Board.

Marshall also served as vice president of TEMA’s information systems division leading the organization’s technology development and strategic planning for its manufacturing and design operations.

In 2015 Marshall was named as one of Automotive News’ 100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry at ceremonies in Detroit. The honorees were also featured in a special section of the magazine in November 2015. During her tenure at West Virginia, she served on the State Chamber of Commerce and held board memberships with several STEM education and workforce development groups. She intends to continue that work in Indiana.
