April 11, 2022
LEBANON, Ind. - Vincennes University’s Gene Haas Training Center in Lebanon will host OSHA Safety Training classes starting in May.
VU hosts training primarily geared to occupational safety and health topics throughout the Midwest in cooperation with the University of Cincinnati and the Great Lakes OSHA Education Center.
According to the US Department of Labor, OSHA training is required for employers whose workers face hazards on the job. The initial class offered in Lebanon, OSHA 511 Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry, is scheduled for May 2-5 and is open to the general public.
“We’re excited to expand VU’s training options in Lebanon by introducing OSHA Safety Training,” Vincennes University Vice President of Workforce Development and Community Services David Tucker said. “VU has a successful history of providing quality training throughout Indiana. With VU’s partnership with Great Lakes OSHA and its focus on employee safety, Indianapolis-area companies and organizations will have greater access to versatile safety training options.”
Since 2017, VU has offered OSHA Safety Training through its partnership with Great Lakes OSHA Education Center.
“We have had tremendous success in collaborating with Vincennes University to increase the availability of occupational health and safety training in the state of Indiana. We are thrilled to partner with VU to continue reaching the workforce with safety training in Lebanon,” Great Lakes OSHA Education Center program manager Brandon Workman said.
