Taylor Wise is the Mid-Year Commencement Student Speaker. She is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Special Education, Mild Intervention K-12, which prepares future educators to teach in both elementary and special education classrooms. Wise is a member of the Education Club, participates in Christian Campus Fellowship, and has made the dean’s list multiple times. After graduating from VU, Wise plans to return to her hometown of Linton, Indiana, to teach special education at Linton-Stockton Middle School.

“During my time at VU, I have been given many experiences that have empowered me and shaped me into the kind of person and future educator that I want to be,” Wise said. “VU has helped me achieve my dream of teaching by providing me with a community. I have really got to know professors and classmates on a personal level which helped me thrive. The program is intentional about focusing on assignments that can be used in our future classrooms, providing us with opportunities for training and certifications, which I am very thankful for as I head into my career, and encourages classroom experiences as much as possible. I am honored to have been selected to be a part of a student panel in the Education Department to share my experiences as a mid-term graduate and selected as the student commencement speaker."
