Biological, Biomedical Sciences - Biology Concentration, A.S. Transfer

Students can earn an associate degree in Biology, preparing graduates for transfer to a four-year institution and helping to set a strong academic foundation in preparation a variety of biological careers.

BIOLOGICAL, BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES - CELLULAR BIOLOGY AND GENETICS CONCENTRATION, A.S. TRANSFER

Students can earn an associate degree in Cellular Biology and Genetics, which provides graduates with fundamental knowledge and laboratory skills in biotechnology, genetics, forensics, microbiology. Graduates are prepared to transfer to a four-year university.

Biological, Biomedical Sciences - Exercise Science Concentration, A.S. Transfer

Students can earn an associate degree in Exercise Science, which provides students with training in anatomy, chemistry, mathematics, physics, physiology, and kinesiology. The program prepares graduates to transfer to a four-year university to complete bachelor’s and graduate degrees.

Biological, Biomedical Sciences - Zoology and Marine Biology Concentration, A.S. Transfer

Students can earn an associate degree in Zoology and Marine Biology, with a focus on ecological sampling, oceanography, SCUBA training, fisheries and wildlife research, electrofishing, animal dissection, and stream and lake sampling. Graduates are prepared to transfer to a four-year university and academic advisers help students tailor their studies for transfer.

Student can earn an associate degree in Biological, Medical Sciences, which help students prepare for careers in the medical field. Graduates are prepared to transfer to a four-year university to complete degrees in areas of study such as cellular biology and genetics.

Pre-Dental Hygiene Concentration, A.S. Transfer

Students can earn an associate degree in Pre-Dental Hygiene, preparing graduates for admission into a Dental Hygiene program at the University of Southern Indiana or IU-Indy.

Pre-Occupational Therapy, A.S. Transfer

Students can earn an associate degree in Pre-Occupational Therapy, which prepares graduates to transfer to an approved occupational therapy program. VU’s program is closely aligned with bachelor-degree programs at the University of Southern Indiana and IU-Indy.

Education - Science - Biology Concentration, B.S.

Students can earn a bachelor’s degree in Education Science, which prepares graduates for careers in teaching and qualifies them to apply for licensure to teach in grades 5 through 12. Students can concentrate their studies in Biology.

Biology Club

Biology Club has many events, outings and also does community service. Every year we plan a big trip after School is out. Past trips have included the Amazon Rainforest in Peru, Olympic National Park in Washington State, The US Virgin Islands, Yosemite National Park and Monterey Bay, CA.
