CORONAVIRUS UPDATE MARCH 20 2020

Coronavirus Update March 20, 2020

 

Dear ATC Colleagues, Students, and Stakeholders:

VU’s top priority is to maintain a safe and healthy environment for our students, faculty, staff, and communities, while doing our best to sustain the fulfillment of our mission. The Aviation Technology Center has been monitoring the changing environment of the coronavirus pandemic and is announcing updates to the ATC's plan for addressing the spread of the virus. The following actions have been taken:

  • High School aviation maintenance classes will tentatively resume April 6. We will be monitoring this ever changing situation and inform students if this changes.

  • High School sheetmetal courses (Decatur HS program) will tentatively resume April 6. We will be monitoring this ever changing situation and inform students if this changes.

  • High School aviation flight courses (Area 31) will tentatively resume April 6. We will be monitoring this ever changing situation and inform students if this changes.

  • General education courses have been converted to online via blackboard for the remainder of the spring semester and will resume March 23.

  • AFLT flight lecture courses have been converted to online via blackboard for the remainder of the semester and will resume March 23.

  • Flight training (in aircraft) has been suspended until tentatively April 6. We will be monitoring this ever changing situation and inform students of when we will resume flight training

  • AMNT second four-week courses are suspended until tentatively April 6. We will be monitoring this ever changing situation and inform students of when we will be able to complete the last day of the second four week courses.

  • AMNT courses that were scheduled to begin March 24 (third four-week courses) have been postponed until tentatively April 15. We will be monitoring this ever changing situation and inform students of when we will be able to resume these maintenance courses.
