Teaching & Work Experience

  • Year Became a Nurse: 2007
  • Year Started Teaching Nursing: 2016 (at Vincennes University)
  • Specialty Areas: Pediatric Nursing, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Nursing Management

Teaching experience includes Nursing Fundamentals, Pediatric Nursing, Medical Surgical Nursing and Pharmacology.

I teach through an active classroom.  I want to see students learn by hands on experience.  I feel that the use of visual aids is important and help to foster the learning experience as well.

Work experience includes 10 years as a staff nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital; with 2 of those years being in management.

Professor Know-it-all finds that the best part of being an educator is interacting with the students. I love seeing their faces light up when they see something new or an area that they have been struggling with final "clicks".

My favorite part about being a nurse is the patients.  I love building relationships with each and every one of the patients and their families that I come into contact with.
