CLASSES  Teresa teaches introductory chemistry (CHEM 103) for science students who have not had a year of high school chemistry, general chemistry lectures and laboratories (CHEM 105 and 106 and labs), and a forensics physical science course for non- majors (CHEM 221),

She is working with others to develop an integrated set of laboratory experiments for the introduction to general chemistry course (CHEM 103) and the general chemistry sequence (CHEM 105 and 106) using some guided inquiry to help the students develop their own molecular level understanding of chemical processes.  In addition, these laboratory exercises help students develop their understanding of the scientific method and their written communication skills.

ACTIVITIES  She participates in the Chemistry Club, Journal Club, Local section of The American Chemical Society (ACS), Program in a box, pinning ceremonies, high school lab days, science Fridays, and other outreach activities.  She is also a mentor in the women in STEM program.

RESEARCH   Teresa has a broad background in research including:  developing and characterizing catalysts that remove sulfur from petroleum feed stocks, characterizing the surface structure of various polymers with and without humidity, and characterizing gas/water interfaces in the presence of environmentally relevant gases, organic molecules, and salts.

PAST TIMES  In her free time, Teresa enjoys jogging, hiking, cooking, comedy, using the leaf blower, and most of all, spending time with her family.
